Caspar Wenn
Psychologist 

Caspar is a Registered Psychologist, with a special interest in the treatment of complex childhood trauma and post-traumatic stress, as well as conditions existing upon the Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum. Caspar has a gentle, person-centred approach, with diverse experience working with adults undergoing a wide range of issues, including high-risk crisis and suicide prevention; supporting individuals to overcome mental health barriers to employment; founding and directing an OCD focussed private practice, and working within family trauma focussed care.

 

Caspar strongly believes in the importance of ongoing, lifelong learning as a Psychologist, and continues to seek consult with numerous Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Social Workers to maintain best practice and to develop his therapeutic skillset further. While predominantly working from the Psychodynamic framework of ISTDP (see here), Caspar also incorporates elements of various psychotherapy frameworks into his approach to meet the unique needs of the individuals he works with, having undertaken professional development in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT); Schema Therapy; Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP); and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). Caspar is also a full member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA), offering Eye-Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

 

Caspar welcomes all individuals to express interest in finding support, with experience in the treatment and care of depressive and anxiety disorders; OCD; depersonalisation/derealisation and dissociation; ADHD; managing chronic pain and somatic concerns including medically unexplained symptoms; complex grief; personality vulnerabilities and disorders; and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in both its acute and complex forms. 

 

Caspar is based in Fitzroy, VIC, Australia, with availability to see adult patients online and in person, working from his practice The OCS Clinic and from Dynamic Psychotherapy.

Caspar offers counselling, psychotherapy, psychological assessment and formal diagnosis of mental health conditions for adults, with current availability to take on new clients face to face in Melbourne (Fitzroy), VIC, and Australia wide wide online via Telehealth.

Individual Therapy & Couples Therapy Sessions are $215 AUD per 50-minute session. Medicare rebates ($93.35) are available for those with a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral from their GP.

​

Therapy sessions are often able to be reimbursed by private health care funds. This reimbursement cannot be claimed in conjunction with Medicare. Speak with your insurer to see what benefits you may be eligible for.
